Thriving!

Leo went for his 5 month check-up the other day (a little bit early) and his stats are -

weight: 7 kg
length: 66 cm
head: 42 cm.

The nurse said he was officially 'thriving'.

First Swim!

Leo spent his day at the beach today and put his toes in the Pacific Ocean for the first time.

He wasn't convinced.

I'm glad it was Romain and not me who was the recipient of this look of outrage.

And the foot stamping begins.

And escalates.  Despite the fact that Romain seems to be smiling like a maniac, we really aren't cruel parents!

He gets a cuddle.

And we'll make a surf life saver out of him yet.

Uncle Dennis Had a Farm - ee ii ee ii oooo

And on that farm there were some race horses!

Leo meets his first one.  But he doesn't really know what to say.

Lucky Dad talks horse, so there is no awkward silences.

Todger the pony hears Leo is on the farm, and comes by to say hello.

And invites Leo for a ride -

- while Dad gives him some hairstyle tips.

Uncle Dane and Leo - the Cowboys.

Watching the sun set with Dad.

And a last family portrait before sundown and its time for a BBQ dinner.

May Family Portrait

Taken at Bangkok international airport, enroute to Australia.  He was a massive hit with everyone at the airport, people tripping over themselves to give him a big smile and cleaning ladies rubbing their hands all over his face (oh no!).  We've decided he should launch a career as a Thai Pop Icon as soon as possible.  Maybe when he is 7.

I love the look on Leo's face though - seriously guys, when will it all end???

The Big Trip!

The big trip from Kosovo to Australia in photos:

pack your bags, we're off!

Checking in at the fancy new airport in Pristina - moments before Romain had to have a row row with the check-in lady.  Romain won.

Are we there yet??  Not even close, little man.
On the second flight - from Istanbul to Bangkok.
The bed that Leo sort of slept in

Getting his tootsies wet in Thailand - an unexpected but highly appreciated 10 hour stop-over at a fancy hotel in Bangkok.

On the third flight - from Bangkok to Brisbane
A much better spot to sleep than that silly little bed.

Never mind that mum can't get any sleep as a result!

But hang on a tic....  where are we now???

Holy Shit!  We're in Australia!!!!!

Finding His Feet

Leo has found his feet!

They have been his favourite toy for about a week now and another reason why the change mat is his most favourite place in the world.

He probably should get out more.

Blue Eyed Boy

Leo's eyes are still super blue.  Even more blue than they look in these pics.  But the big question is - will they change???   Some sites say 6 months is the defining moment, others say they can change colour up to 12 months and then one of our friends says she had blue eyes til she was 2, then they went brown.

So I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

But I never would have imagined myself with a little blue-eyed boy!

Take That, Tummy Time!

We are winning the war on tummy time!

Leo is loving it.  Well, sort of loving it.

A Very Happy Mother's Day

I had my first mother's day today and it was great.

Leo surprised me with his first every drawing.  He did it with the help of his dad - who let him choose his colours, then held the paper up to his pen, so he could let his creativity run free.

I reckon he drew a map of Australia.

Leo the tortured artist.

And if you look close up at this part, I reckon that's a cow - with two horns and all.

So together, I think he is saying that he wants to visit the beef capital of Australia.   Which is Rockhampton!

Then we spent the day at a big park about a half hour drive from Pristina called Germia Park.  Not the greatest name, but it was very nice.  Lots of walking tracks and pine trees and lots and lots of kids.  Leo was happy.

Wigging Out

Leo must be getting self conscious about his baldy head.  I caught him with my credit card just now trying to buy a wig online.
